A project manager reviewing a task board of sticky notes

Project management

We plan and run technical projects from kickoff to handover. That means a scope everyone signs, a schedule that holds, honest status reporting and early warning on risk. We work in Scrum, waterfall or a mix, whichever fits your organization and your contract.

  • Project setup: charter, scope, statements of work, schedule
  • Agile delivery: sprint planning, backlog, ceremonies, coaching
  • Status reporting, risk and issue logs, change control
  • Recovery of projects that are late or over budget
  • Coordinating vendors, subcontractors and client teams

Delivered seven phases of a four-year federal research program to full acceptance, about $2M CAD in subcontract value.

Fast websites, free to host

Most small-business websites don’t need a server, a database or a monthly hosting plan. We build them as static sites: pages generated once and served from a global network, so they load fast, have no plugins to patch and can usually be hosted on a free plan. In Québec we build them bilingual from the start, with a French version as complete as the English.

  • Rebuilds of WordPress and other brochure sites as static sites
  • Hosting on a free plan such as Cloudflare Pages or Netlify, in an account you own
  • English and French from the start, with search engines told which page is which
  • Fast pages, a sitemap and the search basics done properly
  • Content in plain files your team can edit, or updates handled by us

This website is built the same way: bilingual, static and hosted on a free plan.

Mobile app development

We build cross-platform mobile apps with React Native and Expo, so one codebase ships to both iPhone and Android. We handle the parts that slow first-time teams down: push notifications, background location, offline behaviour, in-app purchases and getting through App Store review.

  • iOS and Android from a single React Native codebase
  • Push notifications, maps and location, offline support
  • Subscriptions and in-app purchases
  • App Store and Google Play submission and review

Took a mobile app from proof of concept to the App Store and Google Play, and built the Pocket Dispatch responder app.

Web and software development

We design and build web applications and the backends behind them. Typical work includes customer portals, internal tools, SaaS products and integrations with the services you already use, such as payments, SMS, email, mapping and AI.

  • Web applications in React and TypeScript
  • APIs and backends in Python, with PostgreSQL
  • Real-time features: live maps, dashboards, notifications
  • Integrations: Stripe, Twilio, email, AI models
  • Marketing and company websites

Built Pocket Dispatch: a real-time, multi-tenant platform with Stripe billing, Twilio SMS and more than 1,300 automated tests.

Deployment and IT operations

Shipping is half the job. We set up hosting, automated deployments, monitoring and backups, and we bring a service management practice to run what is live: incident and problem management, release planning, change control and service level agreements.

  • Cloud hosting and automated test-and-deploy pipelines
  • Monitoring, error tracking, backups and restore drills
  • Release and change management
  • Service desk setup, SLAs and incident response

Release manager for a Government of Canada contact centre serving millions of Canadians. Set up and ran a service desk with a team of five.

Data and reporting

We build the plumbing that turns scattered or messy data into reports you can trust: collecting it, cleaning it, normalizing units and formats, and loading it into the reporting tools your team already uses.

  • Data collection and automated pipelines in Python
  • Cleaning, normalizing and de-duplicating records
  • Dashboards and reports in Tableau, and data feeds for Power BI

Built an automated pipeline that cleans millions of web-scraped records into a Tableau market report.
